Officially in business!

Yesterday was an exciting day—I participated as a vendor at a local SCORE women’s networking breakfast!  SCORE hosts this breakfast every other month and when I went to the March breakfast, I thought for sure Invisibaby would be ready to go by then.  HA!  Setting up a business right takes time.  But, I stayed up until 2:30 am that morning getting enough last minute prep ready that I could have a decent vendor table for people to visit.  I was so nervous about how Invisibaby and my attitude toward pregnancy and infant loss would be received.  I’m happy to say the response was great!

As a vendor, I was allowed a moment with a microphone to present my business to everyone. After, as people had time to browse the vendor tables, so many women came over to thank me for sharing my story and trying to help other women who have endured pregnancy and infant loss.  I got some tears, hugs, stories, congrats, and a few sales!

My first sale was to one of the catering staff— a mother who’s young daughter recently miscarried.  The mother said her daughter shut down after the miscarriage and wouldn’t really talk to her about it.  She bought her an “I ❤️ My Invisibaby™️” sticker hoping it might make her daughter feel a little better.  This gives me warm fuzzies knowing I can help others get through grief and acknowledge their babies and motherhood.

Another memorable sale was to a lady, maybe in her fifties?  She said she had one miscarriage long ago and then never managed to get pregnant again.  She bought an “Invisible Mother™️”  shirt and I like to believe, that after all these years, she gets to identify to others as a mother.

As more people discover Invisibaby™️ and I get the online shop going, I hope I continue to make other women feel better about their unconventional motherhood, whether they be mothers who lost pregnancies, infants, or who have struggled to even get pregnant.  I’ve been there ladies, and I can tell you wearing these shirts help you feel proud and empowered and hopeful.

The mauve “Invisible Mother™️” shirt I had one was a favorite
